WELCOME TO BETHEL CHRISTIAN ACADEMY
SUMMER PROGRAM
Welcome to Bethel Christian Academy's Summer Quest.
Summer Quest offers numerous outdoor activities, sports and spiritual
development at a very reasonable rate. Field trips, weekly lunches,
surprise activities, and daily devotions make Summer Quest unique.
There is something for every child!
Every day at Summer Quest will be different from the day before.
Our programs foster learning through hands-on activities, physical
exercise, and new challenges.
Summer Quest is staffed with many current teachers and employees
from Bethel Christian Academy. Many campers already know our staff
members and feel at home from day one. Staff members love working
with the children and are determined to make a positive influence
in their lives. We offer a high level of commitment, care, and love
for your child and we do this in a Christian environment.
Your child's enjoyment and safety is our top priority. You can
feel confident and comfortable when you send your child to Summer
Quest. Our programs are well developed with fun and safety in mind.
Your child will be surrounded by trained professional employees.
Summer Quest, its staff and members, would love the opportunity
to connect with you and your child this summer. Give us a chance
to be a part of your child's social, emotional, and spiritual development.

Meals:
Campers must bring a packed lunch each day (except
hot lunch days). Bethel Christian Academy's Summer Quest will have
a lunch provided one day per week. Menu will be listed in each sessions
newsletter. Students with food allergies should make arrangements
to bring lunch on days the menu conflicts with diet restrictions.
It is recommended that all campers bring a morning snack every day
(Water and juices are the preferred beverages.)
Medication:
BCA follows Maryland statutes regarding medication. No prescription
or over-the-counter medications (including aspirin, Tylenol, ibuprofen,
cough drops, throat lozenges, vitamins, and homeopathic remedies)
will be given to any student for any reason without a written
doctors order. This form with dosage and time requirements
will be kept on file with the school nurse. Whenever possible, students
should take medication at home. However, when necessary, a Medication
Technician will administer medication at school. Upon administering
medication, a note will go home stating when, how much, and what
medicine was given.
Dress Code:
Campers are expected to dress casual for camp,
but in appropriate attire. Shorts, for girls, should be an appropriate
length. Bottom of the shorts should be longer than the childs
fingertip when fully extended. Halter tops, cut off shirts, and
bare midriffs are unacceptable. The camper will be sent home if
inappropriately dressed. Swim attire should only be worn on Water
Activity days. Girls are required to wear a one-piece swimsuit,
and boys must wear swim trunks. Each camper will receive
one camp T-shirt. Additional T-shirts may be purchased for $10.00.
Activities:
The activities are scheduled and carefully supervised, with
a program designed to meet the needs and interest of each age
group. Activities may include; but are not limited to:
|
Art
Basketball
Bible Study
Dancing
Drama
|
Friendship Time
Field Trips
Nature Activities
Soccer
Water Activities
|
Field Trips:
Field trips (a.k.a. Excursions) help expose campers
to new experiences and serve as a learning tool. There will be at
least four field trips during Summer Quest. Specific information
on each field trip will be sent home separately. Written parental
permission is required for a camper to go on a field trip.
We encourage your child to participate in field trips. Bethel Christian
Academy's Summer Quest has procedures for caring for campers with
medical needs on field trips.
Professional Staff:
Bethel Christian Academy's Summer Quest is staffed with a director,
counselors, and camp assistants. Many of the camp staff members
are full- time teachers and Extended Care workers for Bethel Christian
Academy. A criminal background check has been completed on all staff,
and staff members have completed pre-camp training.
Camper to Staff Ratio:
A low camper-to-staff ratio is maintained for all group camp activities.
The low ratio of camper to staff provides campers with continuous
supervision and the opportunity to receive individualized and specialized
instruction.
Extended Care:
Extended Care is provided for campers before and after camp hours.
Extended Care provides games, movies, and outdoor activities. Registration
for Extended Care should be made at the time of registering for
